January 25th 2008 - NEW STORE LAUNCH
Tom Hudson cozies up to
pizza
Seems Tom Hudson, aka
Paul Clayton on Coronation Street, is taking his
character's association with Italian restaurants to the
street. He was invited to the opening of a new Papa John
Pizza restaurant in Sale recently. He spent the day
checking out the kitchen and showing off culinary skills
flipping pizzas for tickled customers. Considering
Paul's recent leanings to arson, I wonder if it was such
a wise choice? Luckily, things seemed to go smoothly and
without incident!
Papa John’s opened its
101st store in Sale, Greater Manchester with help
from Coronation Street soap star Tom Hudson. Tom
plays Chef Paul Clayton in the soap and joined
Sale’s kitchen team for the day to entertain staff
and customers with his culinary skills away from the
set. Tom
was invited to help open the store because of his
role as chef in Coronation Street. "It was great to
have Tom in the kitchen for the day and see his
culinary skills when it came to making pizzas," UK
Managing Director Ian Saunders recalls. "Tom may
pretend to be a chef in the soap but after seeing
him in action I would be happy to offer him a job at
Papa John's if it did not work out in Wetherfield.

February 2008 - Explosive Storyline!
Tom Hudson has confirmed that he is leaving Coronation Street in an
explosive storyline.
The actor's character Paul Clayton - Jack Duckworth's grandson -
will flee Weatherfield after setting fire to Leanne Battersby’s
(Jane Danson) restaurant. The chef has been trying to
stop the ailing Valandros eatery going under but finally agrees to
torch it for the insurance after Leanne promises to sleep with him.
However, a warrant is issued for his arrest when the plan goes
wrong.
The 21-year-old told The Sun: “I’ve loved it on Corrie but I’ve got
other things planned.”
But he indicated that he may return to the cobbles in the future,
saying: "Paul’s just like his dad Terry and he’ll definitely return
to Weatherfield to cause more trouble for his grandad.”
Talking about his exit, he added: “It’s a great storyline - exactly
the kind of
exit I hoped for.” A show source said: “Leanne is Paul’s ideal
woman. So when she offers him the chance to get into her knickers,
he jumps at it.... But the police get involved and Paul is
determined not to go to jail.”
January 2008 - Engagement
Announcement
Coronation Street star Tom Hudson has announced his engagement
to girlfriend Victoria Milne-Taylor.
The 21-year-old actor, who plays Paul Clayton on the ITV1 soap,
popped the question to Victoria while on holiday in Cuba on New
Year's Eve. "Before midnight we walked along the beach over a
bridge. Palm trees made an arch and it was lit up by torch flames,"
Tom told the Sunday Mirror. "My heart was racing. I
got down on one knee and told her, 'I'll love you forever. Will you
marry me?' She just said, 'Of course,' then cried, which I was
hoping was from happiness." Victoria, also 21, added: "It was
perfect. I'm so happy."

- Tom Hudson turns on Xmas Lights in Rochdale
This year the Rochdale Town
Centre Christmas Lights Switch-on will take place on Thursday 15
November 2007,
celebrating the start of Christmas late night shopping. The event is
presented by Rochdale Town Centre Management Company.
Fun for the whole family will start in
the Town Centre from 3pm and on the special Christmas stage on the
Butts from 5.30pm.

Hudson,

December 2007 - Tom
Hudson launches Christmas appeal
Tom Hudson, who plays Corrie chef Paul Clayton, has launched the
anual Salford Advertiser tin appeal, which brings a bit of Christmas
cheer to some of Salford’s most vulnerable people. Tom told
the paper: “I’m excited and happy to be a part of the Advertiser’s
campaign, because I think that everybody who knows Salford knows
that everybody has always been known for helping each other out.
“It’s a good reflection on the people
of Salford that every year this campaign is so successful and I’m
glad to be a part of it.”
November 2007
- Variety is the spice of life for Corrie’s Tom Hudson
He might
be
Slimy Paul in Coronation Street, but he’s a good lad
in real life.
Tom Hudson, who plays the scheming grandson of the
Duckworths, is raising money for
Macmillan Cancer
Support. He and comedian
Ben Nickless
are
putting on a Variety Performance in Ben’s home town
of Rochdale, which they hope to make an annual event.
The show, at the Gracie Fields Theatre on Saturday, will
feature former Atomic Kitten Natasha Hamilton, Luke
Bailey (from Casualty) and comedian Mick Miller. The
British yo-yo champion is also set to make an
appearance! Kym Ryder had been scheduled to appear but
has had to pull out due to TV commitments.
Ben would
love to see this becoming a regular event, and involving
as many local performers as possible: "Maybe this could
become an annual performance and we will bring it back
every year,” he says. "We have got so much talent in
Rochdale, maybe we could have ‘Rochdale’s Got Talent.’"
